    近日刘承芳、罗仁福、易红梅、张林秀与其合作者撰写的题为“Soil-Transmitted Helminths in Southwestern China: A Cross-Sectional Study of Links to Cognitive Ability, Nutrition, and School Performance among Children”的论文在SCI期刊PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases（影响因子4.489）上发表。该论文基于对贵州7个贫困县112个乡镇2100多名农村学龄儿童的调查数据，分析了蛔虫、鞭虫和钩虫等土源性肠道寄生虫的感染情况，以及感染与儿童认知能力、营养状况和学业表现之间的关系。研究结果表明：当地有42%的农村学龄儿童至少感染上述三种肠道寄生虫中的一种；感染与儿童的认知能力、营养状况和学业表现存在显著的负向相关关系；相对于仅仅感染蛔虫的儿童，感染鞭虫的儿童（包括只感染鞭虫和同时感染鞭虫和蛔虫）的认知能力、营养状况和学业表现更差。
