Four keynote speakers were invited to the meeting, namely, Dr. Paul LUU, executive director of the French "4/1000 Soil Carbon Sequestration Program", Professor Pan Genxing from Nanjing Agricultural University, Professor Wang Jinxia from Peking University, and associate researcher Liu Changxin from the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology Strategic Consulting Institute.
Professor Wang Jinxia introduced the soil carbon sequestration potential and influencing factors in my country. She pointed out that my country's farmland organic carbon content has been increasing in the past 30 years, but there is still a big gap compared with Europe and the United States. At present, the main measures for soil carbon sequestration include conservation tillage, crop rotation mode, promotion of organic fertilizers, rational irrigation, utilization of biochar and the development of genetically modified agriculture. The promotion of these measures has its own specific problems, some at the policy level and some at the technical level. We should further carry out basic scientific research in related fields, attach importance to interdisciplinary research and carry out demonstration and promotion of key technologies.
