Prof. Liu Chengfang and others went to Australia to participate in the international academic conference

From April 12 to 15, 2023, Prof. Liu Chengfang, Associate Dean of the School of Advanced Agriculture of Peking University and Deputy Director of CCAP, led a team to participate in the 17th International Conference Western Economic Association International (WEAI), which was held by the University of Melbourne in Australia. Prof. Liu was invited to give a presentation entitled "Nutrition Impacts of Non-Solid Cooking Fuel Adoption on Under-Five Children in Developing Countries". She also served as a moderator and commentator for several sessions. Associate Prof. Xueyuan Zheng, Senior Visiting Scholar, attended the meeting online, and Postdoctoral Fellow Gang Xie and PhD student Yang He attended the meeting on site. The four faculty members and students reported their latest research results, which were fully recognized by the experts and scholars attending the conference.
This year coincided with the 100th anniversary of WEAI, and was also WEAI's first offline conference since the New Crown Epidemic, with more than 530 delegates from nearly 40 countries (regions) attending. During the four-day conference, the organizers organized four keynote speeches and one roundtable forum, with guests including the 2021 Nobel Prize winner in economics, Professor David Card of the University of California, Berkeley, and others. Mr. Liu Chengfang and other teachers attended the whole conference and interacted with the speakers actively, and exchanged ideas with representatives from Australia, the United States, Canada, Singapore, New Zealand, Germany, Japan and other countries in the parallel forum.
