Digital Countryside Subject Group Goes to Alibaba Headquarters in Hangzhou for Communication

On December 12, Huang Jikun, Professor of School of Advanced Agriculture College of Peking University and President of New Rural Development Institute (NRDI), and his team went to Alibaba headquarters in Hangzhou to have a discussion with Wen Jia, President of Public Affairs of Alibaba Group and Director of INRD, as well as the team of Alibaba's Digital Rural Business Unit. The two sides exchanged views on the model innovation of China's digital village development, the exploration of sustainable business models and the future direction of cooperation between industry, academia and research. Afterwards, Prof. K.K. Huang and his team had a discussion with Sun Lijun, partner of Alibaba and chairman of Alibaba Public Welfare Foundation. Prof. Huang Jikun introduced the structure and research results of Peking University's Institute of New Rural Development, and gained an in-depth understanding of Alibaba's Rural Specialist Program and its impact results. The two sides then exchanged views on the business of rural revitalization that can strengthen cooperation. Professor Yi Hongmei, Vice President of NRDI,  Postdoctoral Researcher He Xu,  Deputy Director of Taotian Group's Research Center Zuo Chenming and Director of the Rural Revitalization Research Center, and Alibaba's Digital Countryside Division, Yiyun, were involved in the exchange throughout the whole process.
