Researcher Ming Gao of the Rural Economy Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was invited to give a presentation at Peking University

On the morning of April 18, 2024, the 146th CCAP Frontier Lecture Series  was successfully held at School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, PKU. Researcher Ming Gao from the Rural Economy Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was invited to give a lecture entitled "Food Security and Cultivation of New Agricultural Management Subjects" at  School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, PKU. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Hongmei Yi, and more than 30 teachers and students participated in the lecture.

First of all, Ming Gaoanalyzes the severe challenges to food security in China, and puts forward the paths of accelerating the construction of the national food security industrial belt, continuously improving the farmers' income from grain cultivation, establishing and improving the modern agricultural subsidy policy system, as well as easing the constraints on the labor force and resources and environment faced by food security. Then, researcher Ming Gao summarized the realistic background, types of subjects and cultivation paths for the cultivation of new agricultural management subjects in China. Finally, researcher Ming Gao introduced in detail the organization and workflow of the National Rural Fixed Observation Point Survey System. Since its official operation in 1986, this system has become an important system for typical rural socio-economic surveys in China, providing valuable data support for the formulation, adjustment and evaluation of national agricultural policies.

After the presentation, the students and teachers asked Ming Gao questions about the effect of cultivating new agricultural management bodies in China, the sampling program and data use of the National Rural Fixed Observation Point Survey. Researcher Ming Gao answered all the questions and shared his research and practical experience with the students and teachers. Prof. Hongmei Yi thanked Ming Gao for his wonderful report in the summary, and the lecture was successfully concluded with warm applause.
