The annual conference was organized by the Academic Review Group of Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Teaching Steering Committee for Agricultural Economics and Management of the Ministry of Education. It was co-organized by the Youth (Working) Committee of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Economics, the Youth Scholars Committee of the Chinese Association of Agricultural Technology Economics, and the Youth Working Committee of the China Rural Development Society, and hosted by the School of Economics and Management at Yunnan Agricultural University. Through institutional recommendations, expert reviews, and the host's deliberations, the forum selected five outstanding young scholars for the Annual Scholar list, each of whom presented their research.
At the forum, Associate Professor Lingling Hou delivered a report titled "Economic Development in Pastoral Areas and Grassland Conservation." Her research systematically evaluated the impact of government-led policies such as the reform of grassland property rights, the new round of confirmation, registration, and certification of rural land contracting rights, and the grassland ecological compensation policy on the economy of pastoral areas and the quality of grasslands. She also explored ways to realize the value of ecological products.
The forum's commentators included Zhu Jing, Chief Professor of the Zhongshan Scholars Program at Nanjing Agricultural University and the convener of the Academic Review Group of Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and Luo Biliang, Director of the National Agricultural Institution and Development Research Institute at South China Agricultural University and a member of the same Academic Review Group. Other young scholars who were selected included Associate Professor Qiu Tongwei from Nanjing Agricultural University, Associate Professor Chen Sihan from Tsinghua University, Associate Professor Chen Wei from Renmin University of China, and Associate Professor Cui Xiaomeng from Jinan University.
The forum provides a platform for academic exchange among young scholars, promoting research development in the field of agricultural economics and management. The Annual Scholar selection activity has had a significant impact, with more than 40 scholars selected to date.
