School of Economics and Finance of Xi’an Jiaotong University Visits China Center for Agricultural Policy at Peking University

On May 29, Professor Cong Li, Deputy Director of the Social Sciences Office and a professor at the School of Economics and Finance of Xi’an Jiaotong University, led a delegation to visit the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Peking University. Professor Jikun Huang , Dean of the School and Honorary Director of China Center for Agricultural Policy, held discussions with Deputy Director Li and his team. Professors Ying Lin, Researcher Hui Mao, and Dr. Ming Li from the School of Economics and Finance accompanied the visit.

Dean Huang warmly welcomed Deputy Director Li and his delegation, introducing the development history of Peking University’s agricultural discipline, the positioning and development goals of the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, as well as the school’s achievements in faculty development, scientific research, think tank construction, and talent cultivation .

Deputy Director Li presented an overview of the School of Economics and Finance at Xi’an Jiaotong University, highlighting representative achievements in rural revitalization, regional economic development, and high-quality development research. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Peking University, fully leveraging the strengths of both sides to achieve resource sharing and collaborative innovation .

During the discussions, both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including discipline construction, team development, talent cultivation, collaborative research projects, and field surveys, reaching broad consensus on further deepening cooperation. Both sides agreed to leverage their respective advantages in disciplines, talent, and platforms, strengthen collaborative efforts, and jointly serve the national strategy for the development of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers (“Three Rural Issues”) and comprehensive rural revitalization .

The exchange further clarified the future directions and priorities of cooperation. Both sides indicated that this visit would mark a new starting point for sustained collaboration in academic research, policy consultation, talent training, and think tank development, jointly contributing wisdom and efforts to high-quality economic and social development and the construction of a strong agricultural nation during China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period .
