Delegation from the College of Economics and Management, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Visits the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Peking University

On June 26, a delegation from the College of Economics and Management at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU), led by Party Secretary Kaihuang Zhang and Dean Yongwu Dai, visited the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Peking University. The delegation was warmly received by Professor Jikun, Huang Dean of the School, and Professor Chengfang Liu, Vice Dean. Faculty representatives including Professor Xiaobing Wang, Professor Renfu Luo, Research Fellow Kaixing Huang, Associate Professor Wangyang Lai, and Associate Professor Jiong Zhu also attended the meeting. The visiting delegation included Vice Dean Xuyuan Zheng, Vice Dean Yanzhen Hong, and other colleagues from FAFU. The meeting was chaired by Professor Chengfang Liu.

At the meeting, Professor Chengfang Liu extended a warm welcome to Party Secretary Kaihuang Zhang, Dean Yongwu Dai, and their delegation on behalf of the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences. She provided an overview of the School's history and development, academic programs, disciplinary development, faculty, talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation, domestic and international collaborations, and public service. She also expressed her expectation that the two institutions would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future.
Party Secretary Kaihuang Zhang expressed his sincere appreciation for the long-standing support and assistance that the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Peking University has provided to the College of Economics and Management at FAFU. He also commended the School's remarkable achievements in advancing world-class agricultural education under the New Agricultural Sciences initiative. Zhang introduced the College's recent accomplishments in education and research, particularly its innovative disciplinary development model supported by the "One Body, Two Wings" research platform, and expressed his hope for deeper collaboration between the two institutions. Dean Yongwu Dai thanked the School for cultivating outstanding PhD graduates who have joined FAFU and expressed his strong interest in expanding cooperation in disciplinary development, scientific research, and talent cultivation.

Professor Jikun Huang listened carefully to the introductions by Party Secretary Zhang and Dean Dai. Drawing on the College's regional advantages and institutional positioning, he offered three recommendations for its future development. First, he emphasized strengthening research teams, improving internal governance mechanisms, and enhancing collaborative research capacity. Second, he highlighted the importance of building high-quality databases to reinforce evidence-based research and practical understanding. Third, he encouraged the College to pursue a distinctive development path by leveraging its existing strengths and focusing on areas such as the understory economy, green economy, Fujian–Taiwan agricultural cooperation, and agricultural investment, thereby building a highly recognizable and competitive disciplinary brand.
The meeting concluded with in-depth discussions on topics of mutual interest. Both sides expressed their shared commitment to further expanding cooperation in talent exchange, scientific research, and other areas of common interest.
