On June 13, the 114th Young Faculty Interdisciplinary Forum, hosted by the Office of Humanities and Social Sciences of Xi’an Jiaotong University, was held. The forum invited Professor Jikun Huang, Dean of the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences and the Institute of New Rural Development at Peking University, and Honorary Director of the China Center for Agricultural Policy, to deliver a keynote report titled “Frontier Research on Agricultural and Rural Development: Focusing on Major, Real, and Emerging Issues.”

Professor Huang focused on frontier issues in agricultural and rural development. Drawing on three decades of research by the China Center for Agricultural Policy at Peking University, he systematically shared research experience in identifying major, real, and emerging issues from four dimensions: agricultural technology and economics, food and agricultural economics, resource and environmental economics, and rural development economics. He also discussed key directions for future research in connection with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. The report was rich in content, and faculty and students actively raised questions and exchanged views, creating a lively atmosphere for discussion.
